Version 0.13.0 is the most significant update we’ve shipped since launch. We rebuilt the visual foundation of the entire app — and added something we’ve been asked for since day one.
A new design
The app looks different now. Not just refreshed — rebuilt.
New saffron brand color. Cream-and-white surfaces. Editorial serif typography. Better spacing throughout. It’s designed to feel like a well-made cookbook rather than another utility app — readable, attractive, and calm to cook from.
We also made it properly responsive and fully accessible. Every screen, every component, every text size meets WCAG AA contrast standards. It works on a phone in your kitchen, a tablet on your counter, and a laptop on your couch.
Dark mode
Both the app and the website now support dark mode.
Browse recipes before bed without lighting up the room. Cook in a dimly lit kitchen without squinting. Dark mode follows your system preference automatically — or use the toggle in the header to set it manually. It remembers your choice.
We put real care into the dark palette. We didn’t just invert colors. We rethought the contrast values, surface treatments, and legibility at every level so it actually works — not just in screenshots, but while you’re cooking.
Tell us what you think
This is the biggest visual change we’ve made, and we want to know how it lands for you.
If something looks off, feels wrong, or works better than expected — send us a note. We read every message, and your feedback shapes what we build next.
