Sharp Cooking is now in public beta. For the next few months, it’s free for any home cook who wants to try it — and your feedback will shape what it becomes.
Why we’re doing this
- Find out what real home cooks like, what they don’t, and what would make Sharp Cooking even more useful.
- Figure out the right price for the paid subscription we’ll launch later this year.
- Surface the bugs we haven’t found yet.
What you’ll get
- Add unlimited recipes, plan meals, and shop from your phone in the aisle.
- Your recipes are yours alone. No public feeds, no algorithmic discovery — just your kitchen. (More on privacy and ownership.)
- Whatever you save during beta stays yours, free, even if you don’t subscribe later.
- A generous discount as a Founding Member when we launch the paid subscription.
We welcome all feedback
- Your wish list. What features would make this app even more useful to you and your friends?
- Bug reports. We know this early release isn’t perfect, and we’ll squash bugs as quickly as we find them.
- Translation errors. The app’s User Interface currently supports 9 languages using machine translation, which isn’t always perfect.
- Recipe languages. Just because we haven’t translated the UI into a particular language doesn’t mean it won’t work with recipes in that language. Let us know how it handles them.
- Accessibility. Sharp Cooking is for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or disability. We treat the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as a floor, not a ceiling — this makes it a better product for all users. (Read our accessibility statement.)
- Mobile performance. Sharp Cooking is a Progressive Web App designed to work locally on your iOS or Android device, even offline. Help us put your recipes in the palm of your hand.
Feedback is easy
Click “Feedback” in the header on any page; you can track each report’s status from your Dashboard. Or email me directly at Hello@SharpCooking.com — I read every message personally and respond.
Open to the public
Sharp Cooking’s beta is open to anyone — please share with foodie friends who’d benefit. There’s a share button on the Dashboard, and you can share a favorite recipe directly: hit “Share” on any recipe page to generate a private link. Friends can read it immediately, and if they create an account, they’ll start with your recipe in their collection.
Timing
We expect the beta to run through summer 2026 (winter for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere), then launch an affordable, paid subscription later this year.
Thanks for being part of this. We hope Sharp Cooking inspires you to cook more, and enjoy what you cook.
As always, drop me a line any time: Hello@SharpCooking.com.
